Yes an 8hp will work fine on the Blackwidow. We have used up to a 10. You will need to put the mod in for the engine mount we talk about in the plans.

i know this is a forum to tlk about the spider kart but i didnt know where els to go i'm trying to biuld a custom kart i have the frame fugured but i need to know 2 things... 1 how do i get a chain drive 2 stroke engin to drive both rear wheels and how to attace the rear axel with it spinning or how to atach the chain drive to the axel and move the wheels but not the axel any help would be greatly appreciated my email is briggydabigdrinker@hotmail.com plz help me
This is not just to talk about Spidercarts. I hope people would talk about anything gokart on here. As for your questions.... What you are talking about is a live axle. It is set up so that both back wheels are locked onto the axle and so when you turn the sprocket with the chain both back tires spin to give you a posi-track.
